Project Overview: Rebuilding with Intention

This Boulder remodeling project is a complete reinvention of what life on this land could look like.

The site was a total loss in the Marshall Fire. And that’s where the story began, in Paragon Estates with an empty foundation, some charred remnants, and a homeowner ready to move forward with purpose. The goals? Rebuild a full custom home that honored the views, offered long-term comfort, and matched their evolving lifestyle.

We’re not here to slap together a house and call it a win. We’re here to build a space that feels right. And that’s where our Petra remodeling process came in.

What Does a Full Home Remodel Typically Include?

If you’re wondering what actually goes into a full home remodel, the answer is… a lot. You’re not just picking out tile and paint. A custom home remodel in Boulder like this usually includes:

  • Reconfiguring the floorplan (sometimes from scratch)

  • Electrical, plumbing, HVAC overhauls

  • Custom kitchens and bathrooms

  • Upgraded insulation and energy efficiency systems

  • Exterior finishes (stucco, stone, siding)

  • Interior finishes like flooring, lighting, built-ins, and tiling

  • Outdoor living upgrades

  • And most importantly, every inch tailored to your goals

This 68th Street project in Paragon Estates is a great example. We’ve already wrapped up the new exterior stonework and stucco. Now we’re deep into interior paint, tile, and prepping for cabinetry installs. It’s a full transformation that touches every part of the home.

Why Design-Build Was the Right Fit for This Homeowner

There are a lot of ways to go about building or remodeling a home. But when you're dealing with something this complex and personal, you need more than a general contractor. You need a team that does it all under one roof. That’s where the design-build approach shines.

Design-build means your architectural planning, selections, permitting, estimating, and construction all flow through one process and one Pack. For this homeowner, it meant:

  • Fewer miscommunications (we’re all on the same page from day one)

  • A more collaborative design process (they had input at every step)

  • Faster project timelines (no handoffs between multiple firms)

  • Smarter budgeting along the way

Our homeowner was rebuilding a structure and rebuilding trust in the process.

How Long Does a Whole Home Remodel Take in Boulder County?

Whole home remodels in Boulder County don’t happen overnight!

This 68th Street project? From design vision to framing, to where we’re at now (interior finishes), it’s a journey that spans 12–18 months. Some take longer depending on size, permitting, and scope. However, with fire rebuilds, timelines can be especially delicate. We often navigate insurance, county regulations, and emotional weight all at once.

Here’s a rough breakdown of how the timeline tends to play out:

  • Design phase: 3–6 months

  • Permitting & planning: 2–4 months (depending on where you live in Boulder County)

  • Construction: 8–12+ months

We’re upfront about all of this from the jump because nobody likes surprises. Our Colorado design-build remodeler process is built around transparency. We’d rather set clear expectations than sugarcoat the hard stuff.

What Should You Expect During the Remodel?

So, what’s it like to actually go through a Boulder home renovation like this?

Here’s a quick peek into what that journey feels like when you’re rolling with us:

1. Initial Chat & Vision Planning

We start with a conversation, not a contract. We talk about what matters to you, your goals, and if your vision aligns with how The Pack works.

2. Design Services Agreement

We lay out the scope, budget range, and timeline. This is where we make sure we’re all in agreement before moving forward.

3. Design Collaboration

This is where you help shape the look and layout of your home. It’s not just “make it pretty”, it’s “make it work for your life.”

4. Construction

Once permits are in, we get to work. You’ll get regular updates, site walk-throughs, and the chance to tweak finishes as we go.

5. Move-In Day

The finish line. The moment you’ve been working toward! A space that feels yours.

Every Colorado remodeling project is different, but the constant is this: you’re never out of the loop, and you’re never doing this alone.

Why This Project Matters (and What It Means for You)

This 68th Street rebuild is the perfect reflection of why we do what we do at PCB.

It’s the kind of Boulder County remodeling project that forces you to slow down, pay attention, and care deeply. It’s about creating something meaningful with people who trust you to get it right. And that trust? That’s everything to us.

Could a Remodel Like This Be in Your Future?

If you're looking at your outdated house in Louisville, Gunbarrel, Niwot, or anywhere in Boulder County, and thinking, “We’ve outgrown this,” you’re not alone. Maybe your kitchen is closed off. Maybe you need space for aging parents. Or maybe, like our 68th Street homeowner, you’re starting over from scratch.

Whatever the case, a home remodel in Boulder doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Especially when you’re backed by a crew who values relationships just as much as results.

The Petra remodeling process isn’t about pushing you into something you’re unsure of. It’s about listening. Collaborating. Building something real together.

Final Thoughts from The Pack

This project is still unfolding, and we’ll have more updates as it wraps. But even now, with dust in the air and paint drying on the walls, we can feel it: this one is going to be special.

So if you're sitting on a home that doesn’t fit you anymore, or you're rebuilding after a hard chapter, just know, you’ve got options. And we’re here when you’re ready to talk.

You bring the vision. We’ll bring the grit.

Let’s build something honest.
